Purple Loosestrife is a perennial that will reach 1.2 to 2 meters in height. The leaves are smooth edged on a square stalk. They bloom from June to September on long, pink/purple spikes. Seeds are dispersed by water, mud, aquatic wildlife, livestock and humans. The resilient root system aids in yearly growth if upper plant is destroyed.
