Risk of Spring Flooding
Many R.M. of Corman Park homeowners, residents and farmers should consider that there will be a high likelihood of flooding in their area this spring. The severity and frequency of flooding will be influenced by rapid snow melt resulting from high temperatures, soil moisture conditions and/or extreme rainfall.

The R.M. assists in mitigating damage to personal property but the protection of your property remains your responsibility.

It is important for landowners and residents to be prepared for flooding events, and to take all available precautions to ensure that destruction of property is avoided.  The R.M. of Corman Park continues to take steps to mitigate flooding, by annually clearing out ditches, culverts, and other public high flow areas and structures; however if you observe ditches and/or culverts that are plugged in any way, please contact the R.M. Public Works departments and a crew will be dispatched accordingly.

For more information, click here or contact us at 306-242-9303.

Risk of Freezing Utility Lines

With the arrival of Spring and warmer weather, there will be a risk of water utility lines freezing, as for the next few weeks it is likely the frost will move deeper into the ground.

If you experience any issues with your water service, please contact the RM office at 306-242-9303.

Ministry of Government Relations Notice of Decision re: Bylaw 22/13 & 23/13
At the May 21, 2013 Council meeting Bylaw 22/13, a textual amendment to the RM Official Community Plan (OCP) and Bylaw 23/13, a textual amendment to Zoning Bylaw respecting single parcel severances of up to 5 per 1/4 section or 3 per 80 acres were passed by RM Council.

The bylaws and supporting documents were forwarded onto the Community Planning Branch with the Ministry of Government Relations for review. During this review period a number of concerns and impacts were received during the government's referral process and are summarized in the notice of decision which can be read by clicking on the link below.

Given these concerns the Minister of Government Relations has selected to return the bylaws without approval as they have suggested significant changes are required and conditional approval cannot be considered at this time.  The RM of Corman Park Council is committed to working with the Ministry, affected stakeholders, our six urban municipalities and other governmental agencies on progressing these bylaws forward for approval.  However, this process is going to take some time as there are a number of stakeholders we will have to meet with.
