Provincial Disaster Assistance Program

Council has applied to be designated as an eligible area to qualify for assistance under the Provincial Disaster Assistance Program (PDAP).  Ratepayers are asked to take pictures, videos and keep samples of damaged items to substantiate their claim.  However, clean up can be done in order to prevent mold and other concurrent damage.  A claim form is available below and all forms are to be brought in to the municipal office in order for applications to be coordinated for submission.  Please contact the office if you have uninsurable damage or if you are unsure which expenses may be covered under the program.

Below is some information that may be useful due to the large amount of rain that some areas received last night and the forecast for more rain.

Pump Rentals

Sand Bags/Sand

Imminent Danger of Flooding:
- Sand bag around your home.
- Sand bag around sewage pump out valves.
- Sand bag around water wells.
- Do not block culverts that may appear to be holding water away from your property; if they breach, a sudden surge of water can do more damage very quickly.
- Remove vulnerable belongings from your basement.
- Rent or purchase additional pumping equipment.

Although the municipality will work to reduce the risk of flooding, you are the first line of defense for your property.

The North Tank Fill Station and the Clarence Tank Fill Station have been temporarily repaired.  The flow of water has been diminished due to the resevoir being bypassed.
