At the Annual General Meeting held on October 21st Reeve Judy Harwood presented the 2015 Citizen of the Year Award to ratepayer, Joe Guenther. Mr. Guenther was born and raised in the R.M. of Corman Park and carried on the family farm tradition until his retirement. Over the years he has committed much of his time to agricultural industry boards and organizations and has been involved and contributed so much to the community. Mr. Guenther was presented with a plaque and numerous items donated by businesses located in the Municipality.

Saskatoon Perimeter Freeway
A future freeway around the City of Saskatoon would improve traffic flow, alleviate congestion and improve safety.
Preliminary planning is underway to determine a route for a high-speed freeway around most of the City of Saskatoon. This general location study will be used for future planning.
A route has been selected for the North Perimeter Highway alignment. This route was recently validated by the Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure, City of Saskatoon and R.M. of Corman Park.
The study is overseen by a steering committee that includes representation from the Ministry, the City, Corman Park, the Saskatoon Chamber of Commerce and the regional economic development authority.
West Connector Route Open House
There will be an Open House for the West Connector Route on December 2 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Bethlehem collegiate, 110 Bowlt Crescent in the Common Area. SaskEnergy/TransGas Saskatoon Area Expansion Project
An Open House was held in October, 2015 regarding the first Phase of the expansion. The Second Phase Open House will be on November 24, 2015 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., at the South Corman Park Log Cabin. Farm Stewardship Program
As part of the Federal Provincial & Territorial Initiative Program Growing Forward 2, the Farm Stewardship Program provides financial support for producers to adopt beneficial management practices that maintain or improve the quality of soil, water, air or biodiversity resources. Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities 90th Anniversary Student Scholarship
The Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities (SARM) is now accepting applications for the 90th Anniversary $1500 Student Scholarship in Agricultural Safety and Rural Health.
This scholarship is offered by the Agricultural Health and Safety Network Program at the Canadian Centre for Health and Safety in Agriculture at the University of Saskatchewan.
This year there will be two scholarships available.
Rural students with a farming background currently in grade 12 and pursuing post-secondary education in the fall of 2015 are encouraged to submit application and essay.
Topics for the essay include: “The Importance of Safety and Health on Our Farm” or “Safety and Health Hazards on Our Farm.”
Two students who submit the best farm safety essays will each be awarded a $1500 scholarship at the SARM convention in March 2016.

Registered Non-Profit Orginization Grant
The RM of Corman Park is offering funding to Registered Non-Profit Organization Grant to assist with the municipal (commercial) property tax burden of registered non-profit organizations situated within the jurisdiction (geographical boundaries) of the RM. The grant is intended to assist eligible organizations in delivering their services in an efficient and effective manner and to encourage and support culture, recreation and social services growth within the RM.
2015 Budget and Highlights
Council at their May 19, 2015 meeting set the mill rate for 2015 at a rate of 6.60, which results in an additional $339,000 of revenue to the R.M. over 2014 rates. The following table shows the breakdown of where funds are allocated:
Budget Highlights for 2015 include:
- Capital Budget includes the construction of a new public works shop at a cost of $1.8 million
- Hard Surface Road Projects will increase to a net cost of $1,494,470
- Purchase of three new graders at a cost of $605,000 to replace aging fleet
- Contribution of $400,000 for the purchase of new fire trucks to be used in the RM of Corman Park and surrounding area
- Gravel supply was increased for roads by $732,668
- Roadside mowing program has been increased to improve road safety within the RM of Corman Park
- A new grader zone has been added within the RM of Corman Park to increase the level of service provided to ratepayers

Saskatoon North Partnership for Growth (P4G) Regional Plan
The Saskatoon North Partnership for Growth (P4G) is a recently formalized collaborative which includes political and administrative representation from the partnering municipalities of Corman Park, cities of Saskatoon, Warman and Martensville, the town of Osler, and the Saskatoon Regional Economic Development Authority (SREDA) in an Advisory Role.

5 per Quarter Bylaws 25/14 & 26/14
R.M. Council passed Bylaws 25/14 & 26/14 which proposed amendments to the single parcel country residential density policies in the R.M. from two residential yard sites per quarter to five residential yard sites per quarter.
As of March 20, 2015 the Bylaws have now received Ministerial approval. If you wish to begin your application, please review the BDR process.

SaskLotteries Community Grant Program
Through the SaskLotteries CGP, the R.M. of Corman Park can distribute funds to non-profit community organizations assisting with the development of sport, culture & recreation programs which are accessible to the ratepayers within the R.M.
To be eligible for funding, the proposed project must occur between April 1, 2015 and March 31, 2016. Application forms can be found below and more information on the Grant Program can be found on the SK Lotteries website.
Flood Program - Private Water Supplies Information
The Saskatchewan Disease Control Laboratory will provide free bacteriological testing for citizens with a private water supply who are concerned that their well or cistern water may have been contaminated by flooding and is unsafe to drink.
In order for customers to receive the payment exempt testing they must submit the following:
- A blue Public Health Drinking Water Analysis requisition that has been stamped Payment Exempt.
- Each requisition should also include “Flooded Private Well” written in the comments section.
- A water sample collected in a 250 mL sterile container.
If the above requirements are not met customers will be charged for the testing of their water sample. Please contact 306-787-7138 for any information or questions you have.
Effective January 1, 2014, SGI provided a Fire Suppression and Vehicle Extraction rate increase.
Taxes are due December 31, annually. Outstanding taxes will be assessed 1% interest on the First of each month, beginning January 1.
Residents with outstanding taxes are encouraged to contact the R.M. office at 306-242-9303, prior to making payment. This will ensure that all penalties are paid in full as soon as possible.
Tax Installment Payment Plan Service (TIPPS)
The R.M. of Corman Park No. 344 is implementing the Tax Installment Payment Plan Service (TIPPS). TIPPS allows property owners to pay taxes in 12 monthly installments.
