Rural Crime Watch/TalkMail
Free Talkmail Service
Corman Park Police Service currently fund the SaskTel Talkmail service for any ratepayers in the R.M. who wish to enroll. The Police Service encourages all residents of Corman Park to endter their main land line phone number on this police information and assistance system. There are approximately 800 families currently on the system. Obviously the system would be most efficient with potentially 2500 families on it.
Talkmail is a monthly public service telephone bulletin on current criminal and other community safety issues in Corman Park (ie: fire hazards, dog bylaw, hunting and highway traffic act issues). The system will also be used as an Emergency Measures communication tool. The Talkmail system works similar to Message Manager where you are advised there is a message waiting and you dile your code to receive it.

Rural Crime Watch
Rural Crime Watch (R.C.W.) programs are significant in developing and maintaining a safe community. These programs require a dedicated group of community minded people in concert with local police representatives. As of February 20, 2009 all four previously active R.C.W. programs have suspended their meeting protocols due to a lack of interested personnel. This makes the above noted Talkmail system, a product of R.C.W., that much more valuable and necessary. A few good people in various parts of Corman Park could help grow the Talkmail system and thus keep a valuable part of R.C.W. alive and well. Please contact the Corman Park Police Service at 242-8808 if you can volunteer some time to this effort.
